Hi,

I just thought I would arrogantly post something you guys may or may not
be aware of:

If you use Anjuta for your development, be aware that the newer pango
(libpango) from versions 1.8.1 and above have induced a bug in
Anjuta-1.2.3 and earlier, where the code in the editor will appear
overlaid, garbled, and in motion.

The Anjuta team has released anjuta-1.2.4 specifically to correct this
problem. You can download this latest release from here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=14222&package_id=11898&release_id=348812
<http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=14222&package_id=11898&release_id=348812>

Just untar the source tarball into a directory, Do 'configure', then
'make', and 'make install' and it will compile and put anjuta-1.2.4 in
your /usr/local/bin directory.

The other solution is to not install a new version of pango beyond
1.8.0, so you can continue using your current version of Anjuta.

I have read that the alpha version of Anjuta-2.0.1 is also susceptible
to this bug, but I do not know if the Anjuta Developers have fixed it
yet for the 2.0.x series.

Hope this is helpful...

In case you don't know what anjuta is, it is a Gnome IDE Programmer's
Environment which can generate standard gnu tarballs including the
Developer's code for C, C++, Gnome, GTK, and wxWidgets programs.
