My Dell D600 running SUSE 9.2 (currently) with a Radeon RV250 based
chipset suspends to disk just fine. Just fyi. I'm using the open
source radeon driver that comes with SUSE 9.2. It's got accelerated
3d.... but it's not that great... games work though (just not a very
powerful card). That machine has 1G or ram and a 30G HD. The
screen is just a 1024x768.

So... I'd imagine that an 8600 with a 9200 Radeom would work just
fine with a stock SUSE 9.2 (and most likely 9.3).

Hard to show it live... but I did take a screenshot of our corporate
D600 running SUSE9.2 as I was about to do a software suspend to disk.
On reboot the machine restored to where it was (with the screen locked
of course).

site)
