Well.... I can only say what you already know (probably). Nvidia makes
GPUs and reference boards (that you usually don't get to own). The
vendors that use the Nvidia chips add their own support for Video-In..
and it can vary from vendor to vendor.
The rivatv folks are the best place to check about the status of
what works and doesn't work. Seems many of the older cards (which
can include 59xx cards) work with the older commercial Nvidia
drivers. If you don't need 3D, seems to work fine (according to
them) using the open source "nv" driver.

Supposedly Nvidia did (does) contain some support for Video In in
their Windows drivers.... but Nvidia "officially" doesn't promise
that will work... of course, "officially" Nvidia doesn't promise
their graphics driver will work either.... they produce "reference"
implementations of hardware and drivers for testing only.
