I'd hit eBay about getting some old SCSI concentrators.

The problem is that cheap ~ incompatible.  FireWire does not
work well at all as a multi-host target.  It may work, but
then it doesn't, then you get data corruption.

Apple is backtracking on a lot of their own products as a
result, and many other vendors are following.

You'd be surprised how quickly you're going to get yourself
into a lot of problems.

I'm sorry I'm trying to steer you away from making a big
mistake.  I have tried it and it was more frustration than it
was worth -- especially after buying some so-called "good"
$1,500 products.
