I have removed hdc and hdd as well as setting to 'none' in bios.
hda -> hdb around 80KB/s (file copied = 512MB tarball)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
[root at localhost Desktop]# hdparm -t /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 172 MB in 3.00 seconds = 57.32 MB/sec
[root at localhost Desktop]# hdparm -t /dev/hdb
/dev/hdb:
Timing buffered disk reads: 80 MB in 3.06 seconds = 26.14 MB/sec
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[root at localhost Desktop]# hdparm -T /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
Timing cached reads: 1468 MB in 2.01 seconds = 731.92 MB/sec
[root at localhost Desktop]# hdparm -T /dev/hdb
/dev/hdb:
Timing cached reads: 1316 MB in 2.00 seconds = 657.44 MB/sec
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am at a loss for things to try now
