There's a lot to think about; I have a full weekend of

research ahead. Lots of mental debate as well. :-)

Makes sense. I won a book on SE Linux at local unix
group, have thoughts of installing SE Linux on this
box to beef up security. And would be fun to learn;
but yeah, more to maintain.

(vearing away from Optiplex, after thought) I'd like
to go very low power, so I can leave the box on
without jacking electric bill. Looking into Damn Small
Linux (DSL) and ITX machines, other embedded devices;
don't know yet if DSL has all the apps I need. I
noticed last night that AOpen has some low power
boards, but pretty hi $$. I'll look into the MicroATX
direction.
