I use rkhunter and also no false positives. Updates easily. Running on
Slackware 10.1.

It does report what it is doing while scanning, which is nice. It also
reports whether a version of software you are running can be dangerous
(i.e. php a while back, I was running an earlier version that needed to
be updated). Also reports whether you have other dangerous issues, i.e.
SSH v1 is allowed, etc.

I have a script I run that does the update followed by the scan (it also
updates clamav).
