As I recall, the RHCE tests were something like $750, and had a fairly high
failure rate. they are a full day hands on 3 part test. Of course there
is nothing they can teach in a week that you cannot pick up in a similar
timeframe using your own computer and some books. As far as the classes
go, they will teach some vendor specific stuff, Red Hat classes do go into
a bit of detail on anaconda (the installer) and kickstart, as well as the
RH init and rpm. Pretty much everything covered in those classes is very
well documented, and can be done easily on your local machine for the hands
on experience.
