In the "Layers, Channels, and Paths" dialog, each layer has an "eye"
icon in the right hand column when that layer is visible. A click on
the "eye" makes it disappear, and the associated layer becomes
invisible. A click were the "eye" was makes the it reappear, and the
layer becomes visible once again. You should be able to toggle "off/on"
the visibility of any/all the layers you don't want to see by using this
method, and thus isolate the layer you want. At least, that is what it
looks like - let us know if that does what you need.
