I do not know if this would be any help, but I found one ftp archive for
Canon printers. It is

	ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/bj/linux/

I found this at the suggestion of Kevin Brannen (11/25). I just went 
back and searched for "3000" and there is nothing there.

I might have got carried away with the downloads. I probably got more
than I can use.

How do you query the system to determine your video chipset?

PS When I worked for DSC Communications, all company printers were
"PostScript" printers. Does anybody still make a "PostScript" printer?
Is that one of those things that is prohibitively expensive?
