The "device is busy" error usually indicates that you have an application 
still utilizing the data on the disk. 

If you are working from the command line,
It is also important to note that if you cd to the device's mount point, you 
will need to cd back out of it before you can  umount the device, (or you 
will get "device is busy" error.
