Thanks for the pointer to http://localhost.  However, I should have been 
clearer in my question.  What I'm trying to do is pause the queue itself 
so that, when I print something, it appears in the queue but doesn't get 
printed.  I realize I could turn off the printer but what if it isn't 
local?  I'm wanting this as a means of troubleshooting (isolate where 
the problem is when either something doesn't print or prints trash).
