Actually Terry, you DID read my post carefully.  You just talked
yourself out of believing it was a wired nic.

This has been my problem...everyone talks about problems with wireless
nics.  Mine is hardwired.  Something I HAVEN'T tried is changing the
Cat5 cable.  I have NO idea why that should be an issue...it worked just
fine under FC3, but I'll try a different cable and see if it makes a
difference.
