Moodle is pretty slick. We use it at North Lake College for many of
our COSC courses, as well as the Open Source Technology and Unix
programs.
I know of two Moodle modules which might address your whiteboard
needs:

I doubt any of these will be on par with Breeze and other proprietary
slideshow presentation software, but it's a start.
If you try either/both of these modules, I'd be very interested in
your comments (offline).
