If anyone is familiar with PCLinuxOS, I could probably use a hand
with this. I'm trying to help a new user just getting started, so if
anyone has any experience with PCLinuxOS you might try and give us a
hand here:

Ok,
Well, not familiar with PCLinuxOS [yet] but am viewing their website
as we speak.

....And as I look at the page
http://on-disk.com/product_info.php/products_id/69 I see that there
are 4 differnet versioins,

Standard
ati8500up
nvidia7174
nvidia7676

Do you know which one you have?

And, so, is it a home-made disk or did it come from PCLinuxOS?
In other words, are there any fancy logo's on the CD or is it just
labeled with a felt tip pen or something like that.
(I notice they sell disks for $4.99 plus 90 cents shipping.)

It would also be helpful to know what kind of PC you have. i.e.
Processor speed / type, hard drive size, how much memory, video card
type, etc.

But the bottom line is, if your computer is set to boot to a CD and it
does not boot to this particular CD, then you are going to be unable
to install.

I have some CDs and can give / loan you one, (various different Linux
distributions). Let me know where you live and / or an address, we
can try and hand off or get you one of the ones I have for you to try
out.

So, you live in the Fort Worth area? Right? What part of town?... etc...?
