I think you have the dots-per-inch setting wrong in your monitor
definition.  I'm not quite sure where it's set up though.  The deal
is that the system thinks you have a very small monitor - so it has
to draw things BIG so you can read them.

In regular SuSE, this would be something to set up in SaX or maybe
YaST.
