That's right, but GPL is a lot more digestible so I just ignore GNU
and say GPL instead, (because I would never be able to give a
satisfactory GNU explanation).  Trying to pitch the concept of  Open
Source or Linux to non-techs would require you to lay everything out
in very simple, clear terms and the explanation of GNU would muddy
things up to no end, IMO.  I think it would be much better for the new
Linux user to discover the GNU acronym and it's meaning on their own,
after they become a Linux user.
