Depends on what you are doing ...
Video & HD will drive a lot of performance stuff and those will be about the
same.
CPU ... There's not a ton of meaningful diff between P2 and P3, so CPU speed
- while 2 CPUs won't give you 2x the MHz, there is some improvement, esp for
Linux workloads (servers).
Memory speed is also important - big diffs w/ PC66 vs PC133

Just wonder which one overall performance.
a box with Dual PII 450 with 512 M RAM
another one have one PIII 500 with 640M RAM the rest of peripherals are the
same (same HD, same video card...) which one have better performance?
