[NTLUG:Discuss] OpenOffice.org and Printing Oddities....

Lets try again.. for some reason I didn't see this get through before (maybe
I sent using the wrong account)...
Got a tough one... Most times anymore I can find some sort of documentation
online to help solve some problem, but this one is uniquely difficult. I
have two computers, with identical hardware, and identical copies of Red Hat
WS4 on them. The only different is, one boots off a local hard drive, and
the other boots using pxe/tftp remote boot (with mounted using NFS). Now
here's the problem. They both run the latest version of OpenOffice provided
by openoffice.org's website (I'm not actually sure why it was updated... I
think it was to get to OOo 2.0), when you print using open office on the
network boot machine... OpenOffice fails to add the postscript header to
the printout. If you select "print to file" on both machines, the only
different between the two printouts is the header beginning with %PS-
ADOBE-3.0, and ending at %ENDSETUP (forgive me if my exact syntax is
incorrect). We have tried everything from printer configuration, reinstall
all of the apps involved (to make sure something wrong didn't happen to the
apps), to playing with where open office sits (mount nfs on the local boot
machine and tried running open office off that nfs mount).
The only ideas we have at this point are:
1. Walk up to a brick wall and hit my head against it
2. That it could be some sort of piping issue that is being caused by
EVERYTHING being mounted by NFS.
3. It could be a cups setup query issue, and try installing the latest
1.2 with their ESP-GHOSTSCRIPT.
4. Start looking through the 1+gb worth of source code, and try
debugging OOo [sigh]
5. Continue to beat head against brick wall...
So if anyone has any suggestions
