I find that sort of thing happens to me after a yum update on occasion.  
Usually, it's the result of various versions of libraries mixing and a 
reboot cures it.  On rare occasions, the latest update actually introduces 
the problem... whatever it may be.  If you were running Windows, I wouldn't 
have to ask this question:

Have you tried rebooting?
