I never got X setup on knoppmyth and got frustrated
dealing with command line on the issue. They should
have that fixed by now; I was using a beta release.
I 'almost' made freevo work on either MEPIS or PC
Linux. I started with a plain MEPIS or PCLINUX load,
then updated, then installed freevo and freetv from
online. I had the freevo program working but couldn't
figure out how to get TV guide information. (Freevo
worked, but i was having to kill it to quit) I
configured the guide stuff, but the mapping that I did
was in my home directory and the freevo mapping was
somewhere else (a system level.) I've scorched that
linux load already or I could be more specific.
I found PC LINUX + video podcasting and that was good
enough for me (I get my CNN on demand now.. i just
have to right click it to full screen.) To pull in
video podcasts, I use Akregator(sp? - I'm on 'extreme
gaming' juega linex at the moment which is Gnome
based.)
I'd still like a full blown DVR, If we're going to
have a symposium, I may actually show up to a meeting.
