Oh sure.. Open them up and adjust the fly-back transformer.  You can 
sometimes find and adjust the sub-bright too.
 I do it all the time to bring life back into a monitor.
I'll stay on the lookout for a monitor that needs this and I'll have my 
digital camera with me.  ooOOooo maybe I could post this to the ntlug-wiki!
I won't bore you with insulting disclaimers about high voltages, no user 
serviceable parts inside, and using non conductive tools to make your 
adjustments.  I'm sure you are quite responsible on those points.  As 
for me...I have my wife (or customer) standing by to call 911 should I 
fall pray to the klutz/caffeine shakes/sneeze attack...etc.  It is 
always dramatic.  Be sure to yelp loudly when you are done just to enjoy 
the effect. Don't forget to duck.
