I've been in Garland for 10 years and have lived through four cable
system sales (Excite at Home, AT&T at Home, AT&T, Comcast). All happened
with some service interruption (during the AT&T-Comcast switch, for
example, Comcast decided I no longer needed the static IP address AT&T
had assigned and killed it without even letting me know). I ended up
with new DHCP allocations the other times, just a minor inconvenience.
If you don't use their mail services, you shouldn't have many issues.
Just monitor your system, watch for address/gateway changes, and think
about how this changeover benefits you, the customer :)
TW/RR has its problems. In Houston they are very aggressive with
outbound filtering. I'm hoping they don't start any of that crap
here.
