[NTLUG:Discuss] Aberrations when connecting to Internet with Knoppix V5.0.1

I agree with Patric and David - if it is displaying information about
eth0 and eth1, there is more than likely another NIC in that machine
that  you are unaware of.  Is there a wireless NIC or firewire device,
or ornboard something-or-other, or...... ?

Try:
dmesg |grep eth

See if that tells you anything.
