for a slightly different perspective...
it was mentioned earlier in the thread about keeping track of numerous
UGs should multiple distros get their own individual user groups (and
how hard it would be to keep track); how about an "open door" policy
where NTLUG could have a list of urls/contacts/whatever for each
distro UG as they appear (if they should choose such an association) -
a "clearinghouse" or "central point of contact" if you will - so that
the commonality of Linux itself will still be available to all no
matter what their distro of choice, as well as allowing easier
migration between distros and help for those who may be less able to
find such information on their own. this would be a slightly more
proactive approach to the overall Linux help that this group is known
for. chances are those responsible for creating each group would
already be familiar with NTLUG so they would likely be aware of the
list of groups when they create their own portal into the world of
Linux.
