Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] backing up video dvds & burning data dvds

I need to buy a single layer dvd burner that is Linux friendly, and I
thought I would ask if anyone had any words of wisdom regarding
hardware.

also, have any of you used dvd::rip, nero/linux, k3b, etc?

I need to remove my dependence on nero / windows and dvdshrink, so I
can be rid of the cancer that is Microsoft.

thanks.

Erik,

I use Plextor PX-716A for DVD and CD burning. K3B software works well,
but watch out for Fedora. When I ask for K3B it gives me the Gnome
equivalent, which does not work. So far, Fedora has not written to disk, and I
could use the disk with K3B on SUSE.
