Well..then /var/lib/openldap is the wrong directory for the LDAP
database files -- because I have to edit the DB_CONFIG file in that
directory!
I can't say that I'm thrilled having the LDAP database ANYWHERE on /var
!! So many things can eat up the disk space on var. A run away print
job (/var/spool), excess mail (/var/mail ) or some network event
(/var/log) could serve to bring a crashing halt to all things /var. OH
sure any partition can get filled up... but it would seem that /var is
the most likely candidate. One almost wants to put the ldap database on
the root partition...somewhere under /etc! Maybe symlink
/var/lib/openldap to /etc/openldap/data or something...
Any thoughts?
