At one point I went looking for free software in various categories.
Here's what I found for Accounting:
Compiere: www.compiere.org/
Opentaps: www.opentaps.org
Tiny ERP: tinyerp.com
Neogia: neogia.labs.libre-entreprise.org
Open Source Enterprise: sourceforge.net/projects/opensourcekit
I have no experience with any of them (which I realize you were looking
for) but at least having names of solutions may further your search. If
you do investigate further and find useful feedback please share it.
