[NTLUG:Discuss] SMP kernels

Guys,

Have what might be a silly question - but I'm trying to
find a site that compares the differences between running a non-SMP and a
SMP (and possibly a bigSMP) kernel on an AMD X2 processor?

When
I go to kernel.org - they're talking on such a high level - it's tough to
get the differences.  The only thing I've really gleaned is that
bigSMP can handle up to 64Gb of memory because of PAE.

Of
course, I'm sure there's many other issues outside of just kernel/system
performance (like the availability or lack-thereof of NVIDIA drivers for
some of the more exotic kernels).  Was hoping for a simple comparison
chart - if one exists.

Thanks! - dave
