I've run it both ways.  At my last company I had to leave the laptop on 
Windows, so I ran a Linux guest.  My preferred way is to have Linux as 
the host and Windows as the guest.  That's the way I'm running it now. 
It 'seems' to be faster and more robust with Linux as the host, but 
that's just my opinion, not actually tested.

Both ways work and work well, either 32- or 64-bit.
