- ok..ok..I know this comes straight from the BAFH handbook...but I need
- someway to restrict the erasing of history (within Firefox) from a few
- machines.
No ideas on this topick.
- Any ideas other than having to setup specific accounts for the
- kids and restrict those accounts would be helpful.
Why not give the kids their own login accounts? And
make sure they use them? Teaches responsiliblity and security.
As for the browsing history, you'd probably be best off
configuring an HTTP proxy (squid and tinyproxy come to mine),
and make sure they can't go out of the network without going
through the proxy.
That'll give you logs of all the URL's visited, and if
using squid, may cut the bandwidth used for some commonly
visited sites.
