Tried it about a year ago it just seemed buggy screen and mouse freezing 
up, ctrl-keys stuck on the guest OS so I moved on.  I downloaded the 
free wmware player from http://www.vmware.com/    got on a site like 
http://www.easyvmx.com/ made a blank image and installed Linux on it. At 
some point I plan to buy vmware workstation but just to try it out this 
worked out great I've used it both ways Linux host and Windows XP guest 
OS and Windows 2000 host and Linux Guest and I'm really happy with the 
way it works and performs.
