[NTLUG:Discuss] Hal help

I've had no luck with this over on the opensuse list, so I'm throwing it out to the experts here.

Recently I installed Suse 10.2 in this box, which also has a Suse 9.1 hd, a Win XP hd and a DVD burner.
The problem is that 10.2 won't automount the dvd. Yast sees data dvds when inserted but nowhere else does it show up. ivman is running. "lshal -m" will show true when media is inserted and false when ejected.

I have googled enough to know that I ain't the only one with the problem but nobody offers any fix. I would say that this issue is a deal buster for Suse 10.2... no dvd automount, no net worth. Yes, I can manually mount the damn thing but what a pain, especially when I want to watch a movie -- which I cannot do.

I believe the problem involves hal and ivman but I haven't figured it out yet.

Thanks,
Fred
