Okay, seeing the info about OpenGL screen savers reminded me that one of
the recent updates was for the xorg x-server. When I got home today and
turned on the Debian system, there was yet another update ready to be
downloaded, and it was also for the xorg x-server. So, I took a chance,
installed it and my system has been up for two hours without locking
up. If it is still up and responsive in the morning then I think I
found the gremlin. I will let the list know what turns up. Thanks to
all who responded. I do appreciate it.
