I recently needed to change the partitioning on my hard disk to add more
swap space so I backed up my linux system to a DVD before partitioning
it. After changing the partitions, I copied the DVD back to the hard
disk. Then it would not boot up. After some research, I determined that
the /etc/mtab and /etc/fstab files and, to a lesser extend, the grub
files should not be over written after the repartitioning. Are there any
other files that should not be over written after a repartition?
