[NTLUG:Discuss] SMB Shares between two Linux computers?

Guys,

I know it's something simple and stupid that I'm
missing....but could use some help.

I have two machines that
I'd like to share directories with.....one being SuSE, I went into Yast
and under 'Network Services' believed I setup 'Samba Server'  (a
quick review of /etc/samb/smb.conf appears to mimic what I setup).
I've shared User Directories to make it simple (or so I thought)

Now I go tot he other machine...and I can browse the network and find
the shared machine...and the shared folder -the authentication keeps
failing no matter what combination I try (I would imagine it's the
original machine username/password?).   Since SMBUSER is not on
the system anymore, I would have thought user accounts would be carried
over to smb-accounts?  Is that not the case?

How can I get
these two talking? (apart from using NFS)

Thanks - dave
