Exactly. The error msgs are ATA2. I looked at the system log, ata-piix?
runs because of the SATA drive I suppose, and the ATA1 msgs are ok. But
then ATA2 runs looking for SCSI ports. It tries a number of times then
gives up.

Yep, it is a Dell Dimension 4700. Any fix?
