I suspected it was the Dell BIOS.
Okay, the gkrellm with the i8krellm plugin will indeed do the job. As it
turns out, it probably does a better job than gi8k does which is supposed
to do the same thing. If the gkrellm thing would become a panel applet
then that'd probably be the end of the game. Good tip though. I have seen
that app before and I see it often in screen shots of other people's
systems. There's a lot of status information available in that thing too.
Temperatures, memory usage, email checking, disk space, you name it...
there's probably a test in there to see if your wife is pregnant. :) Nice
utility.
