[NTLUG:Discuss] AC97 codec on HP Pavillion..

Ya'll gonna like this one, but I need some help...

After weeks of trying to get Windoze to load on a HP Pavilion 8755C 
(800MHz PIII), I found that I can consistently load Linux but not 
Windoze. The spousal unit is hacked enough with virii and Windoze 
crashes to be willing to change to Linux!

So, I have Slackware 11.0 loaded and everything works but the sound... 
Somewhere, someway I'm missing something to get alsa set up properly to 
use the AC97 sound from the mother board on the beastie.


Anybody know what's up?
