All
From a Linux (Mandriva 2007) system, I run 'ftp -i' to a SVR4 release 4
system to do an 'mget *' - just one directory of files, no
subdirectories as this isn't guaranteed in ftp.
I set the mode to binary
(question 1)
Before any of the file transfer begins I get a message that says ...
WARNING! n bare linefeeds received in ASCII mode
... where n is equal to the number of files transfered
Does that mean anything?
(question 2)
The total number of files to be transferred is 551
The number of files transferred while varying slightly is about 535, and
on any given run I get this message interspersed in the process ...
... about 16 times (essentially, about the number of files missing +/-).
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer
Regards
Further detail if required:
There are 24 subdirectories of files to transfer, with different totals
per directory, but a total of 551 files to transfer
The ftp processes are run separately, once for each of the 24 subdirectories
