Plain old Debian is friendlier when you install it with Xfce desktop. For the Desktops Gnome has the heaviest footprint followed by KDE take a nice step down and you have Xfce. IceWM has a much lighter footprint than Xfce and I would like to see a distro that installs with it.

Why does he need a reason? Can't someone simply run a project because
maybe its fun?

The explanation is because he wants to do it. That's the beauty of Open
Source. Do what you want. Its a free OS.

That attitude reminds me so much of a user of the Richmond products.

I don't happen to care a lot for broccoli. So, my wife modifies
perfectly good recipes to suit me. Those who are of the purist cook
persuasion are aghast that we would defile the recipe. Tough. It's my
dinner.

If you don't happen to appreciate the work Patrick or others are doing,
why question it? Why not just move on to the next message and let them
enjoy their project?

My $.002

Michael
