Many dozen moons ago I asked for advice on what to setup to handle
multiple email domains so that each domain could have richard@ email
account AND something that allowed the email administrator to easily
manage those domains and accounts along with allowing the users to
administer their personal email settings along with web mail access.
The advice give was to... "Start at www.qmail.org, and finish with
www.inter7.com. You want the following packages: qmail, ezmlm-idx,
autorespond, vpopmail, qmailadmin, and (probably) sqwebmail."
For many moons that setup has worked, but alas, qmail -- need I say more?
So, what is a more current solution for email for multiple domains? I
am hoping to reproduce the ease of administration that qmailadmin
provided along with the virtual mailboxes (instead of system accounts.)
Postfix and either courier or dovecot seem to be good candidates, and
squirrelmail is nice, but what about setting up and managing virtual
users? I'm beginning the trek to a conversion starting tomorrow and
wanted to get a heads up on what others would recommend and caution against.
