[NTLUG:Discuss] Camel's Eye

Has anyone gotten Camel's Eye to work on a Linux platform?

It was written in Java so it should be portable but I keep getting
permissions errors when trying to run
#java -cp -jar <jarfile>
I am guessing that I am running as my user and that the jar file 
is trying to do a system something, typical Widows everyone-is-root
stuff. No, I did not download the source and study it because
I am all out of aspirin and I am not fluent in Java.

From the program description and some reviews it looks really 
promising.

Ideas?
