KDE has Adept witch for all intensive purposes as far as i can tell is 
basically the same as synaptic, a graphical front end for apt. I see no 
issues with the ease of use with Adept, especially the "Add/Remove Software" 
utility where its a nice organized list of the most common/popular software 
and you just check or uncheck the software you want to install/remove. I cant 
imagine anything easier. My wife even likes using that for the software she 
wants to try out. She would have NEVER installed/uninstalled under microsoft.
