Perhaps that's the answer here.

Suppose ALL of the Metroplex computer groups got together and went to 
the Dallas City managers and pointed out the value of promoting our 
kinds of groups - that's worth real money to the city over the years to 
come.

Ask THEM to find and fund a place where we could have an event like that.

Getting all of the groups together under one roof would clearly have 
value to industry in the area.
