Very good point. My recent fresh install gave me a slightly older
version of the 100.XX driver and it works great.
I just updated another computer yesterday and got horrible green and
black triangles on the screen, and my son's Windoze box had the same
problem. Setting them both back to an older (Feb. 2007) driver fixed
the problem.
I haven't used (Open)SuSE in a while, but doesn't it use RPM or URPMI?
replacing the NVidia package with an older version _might_ work...
I use the NVidia native installer with the sh NVIDIAXXXX.bin script and
it works almost every time. I was forced to remove the awful DKMS
kernel module system in order to make it work with the kernel sources.
And yes, every kernel update needs a new NVidia install...
