FWIW, I once had an early USB flash disk that that had an ISO9660
image stored in ROM, as opposed to having the image in the flash memory
itself. Thus there was no way that I could find to remove the ISO9660
image or "free" the space on the device.
Your device might be similar.
I ended up taking the device back to the store and getting a
different one, as continually mounting the ISO9660 image was
truly annoying (and I don't like hardware devices forcing their
idea of software on me).
