If it's not ipv6, I'm not sure what it might be.

As for 1., you can fix that by putting a GATEWAY=xx.xx.xx.xx into /etc/sysconfig/network but I've
heard that doesn't work on FC7 with NetworkManager running.

I've seen differing addresses like 2. when a NAT is involved.  Since SSH sees the public side of
the NAT as the destination address it reports that, but I don't know if Road Runner is doing that.
