All,
Cisco has been doing it for a while. Here is their conception of best
practice.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] pushing routes to all clients.
If I understand correctly, I think someone has just explained to me a
"better" way to setup a multi-site network. Rather than subnetting a
10.4.0.0/16 Class B address into subnets (such as 10.4.0.0/19 and
10.4.32.0/19 ) and routing between the segments, DHCP can be used to
push 'classless' routes to the clients.
This would allow devices on the main network to use a /16 subnet with
any routes to other network 'blocks' being passed to each client via DHCP.
Is this a practice that is REALLY done out there in the world?? I am
beside myself with shock over this concept as it is either something way
technically advanced of which I've never heard ...or is....misguided.
What would be the issues in trying to manage routing tables in an
environment where you push routes to clients?
