[NTLUG:Discuss] video card recommendation

Howdy,
I have multiple reasons. One is that I trust the open source drivers
more. I crashed a system recently when I installed a XEN kernel. It
turns out the XEN kernel adds a couple of things that the proprietary
driver did not support. I rebuilt the system and just installed the
open source nVidia drivers. The system has been fine ever since. The
closed source drivers worked better with Compiz, but I can live without
that. Secondly, I feel better about the system knowing it is clean of
closed source stuff. I suppose some people would be fine with
ndiswrapper for their network drivers, but I never used it and think
that is the right decision for similar reasons.
Thank you for the feedback though,
Ralph
